Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue to Inspire Innovation and Sustainability for Three Days in DSM
For the next three days, the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue will take place in at locations across Greater Des Moines (DSM). This annual presentation brings together experts from around the world to discuss agriculture and economic policy and celebrate Dr. Norman Borlaug’s legacy. From Oct. 29 – 31, 2024, explore issues and trends that impact the international effort to end hunger, including climate change, water security, rural development, technology and more.
2024 Agenda
This year, the Borlaug Dialogue event will center around the theme, Seeds of Opportunity: Bridging Generations and Cultivating Diplomacy. The agenda is available here, and you can Save a Seat for a multitude of sessions at the Iowa Events Center, 730 Third St. in Downtown DSM.
Laureate Award Ceremony
Watch the 2024 Laureate Award Ceremony live on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 at 6:40 p.m. worldfoodprize.org/live. The ceremony will celebrate Dr. Geoffrey Hawtin and Dr. Cary Fowler for their contributions to seed conservation and crop biodiversity.
Borlaug Dialogue Speakers and Engagement Opportunities
This year’s speakers include Guests like Ambassador Terry Branstad, President at World Food Prize Foundation, Qu Dongyu, Director-General at United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Hon. Reuben Mtolo Phiri, Minister of Agriculture at Zambia and Hon. Tom Vilsack, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture at United States, to name a few. Apart from Borlaug Dialogue speakers, participants at the event can attend breakout sessions, visit exhibitor booths and attend special meetings, too.
