What’s a signature offering of your Chamber?

The one event that all community members and Chamber Members recognize us for is our July 4^th Parade. It is the largest parade that takes place all year and features a new theme every year, as well as creative floats from numerous community organizations and businesses. It is open to the public to participate in and we have thousands come out and line our community streets in anticipation each year. The Parade was voted as “Best Community Event for 2018” by our local Newton Daily News, which we are very proud of!

What is your Chamber’s biggest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Growing our Ambassador program is one of our greatest accomplishments this year. We have seen an increase in interest in joining our group amongst local young professionals. We can help these newcomers become better acquainted with their fellow members and business leaders in our community. It is a great opportunity to grow our volunteer base in our community as well as educate and develop young talent.    

Any initiative or project that you are looking forward to in 2019?

In 2019 we will start a new Spring Seminar series where we highlight a local business that has important resources that other Chamber Members can learn from and utilize, whether that is advertising or staff development. We want to extend programming offerings to our Members. 

What upcoming events should people watch for?

Dec. 6, 2018 — Newton Chamber Holiday Social

Jan. 24, 2019 — Chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner

The Chamber Annual Meeting and Dinner is one of our major events of the year. We always have a record number of Members attend and it provides a great opportunity to network and enjoy a fun evening of community updates, award presentations and a Chamber recap of 2018 as well as what to look forward to in 2019. Hope to see you there!
