Drive-Through Bite-Size Market
Tomorrow is the last Downtown Farmers’ Market Drive-Through Bite-Size Market from 8-11 a.m. at the Iowa State Capitol Complex Parking Lot, East Grand Avenue and East 13th Street, in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Pre-order produce, flowers, baked goods and more through the Online Marketplace and pick up the following Saturday. Or, purchase items onsite while remaining in your vehicle.
Kick off your holiday shopping at the Principal Park parking lot on Saturday, November 21 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the Drive-Through Winter Farmers and Makers Market. Find the perfect gift for loved ones from local DSM artists and makers.
Iowa Business Hall of Fame Nominations
The Iowa Business Hall of Fame nominations are now open and will be accepted until 5 p.m. Sunday, November 1. You can find past inductees and the nomination form here.
Small Business Success Summit
The first day of the virtual Small Business Success Summit will take place Thursday, November 5 from 12:30 – 5 p.m., followed by a second day of evens on Friday, November 6 from 7:30 a.m. – 12:35 p.m.
Untapped Talent Series — Veterans: Programs Providing Employer Incentives
On Monday, November 2, the Untapped Talent series will focus on Veterans: Programs Providing Employer Incentives. Hear from panelists on tax credits, job training reimbursements and awards from the federal government. This event will take place from 2:30–4 p.m. on Zoom.
8th Annual Inclusion Summit + 21-Day Equity Challenge
The eighth annual Inclusion Summit will take place on Zoom from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 10. The Summit will wrap up the 21-Day Equity Challenge, a free event where emails are sent daily with recommended podcasts and other resources that runs through Monday, November 2. Topics include: Understanding privilege, housing and redlining, justice system inequities and more. Sign up at unitedwaydm.org. 19th Annual Holiday Promenade
The 19th Annual Holiday Promenade in the Historic East Village will feature activities over six Sundays and six Wednesdays in November and December, creating the 12 Days of Promenade. The Historic East Village will show off holiday lights and festivities at businesses throughout the district. The first event will be Sunday, November 15 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Early voting is open in Iowa. There is additional information on the Voting Information Center available on Facebook for the 2020 U.S. Election. Following the election, join The Partnership’s Policy Team for a 2020 General Election Recap on Wednesday, November 4.
