Events for Equality

Student + Community Townhalls

Des Moines Public Schools has created virtual and student townhalls for community conversations surrounding equality, including the following events:

·      4-5 p.m. Wednesday, June 17

·      7-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17

·      2-3 p.m. Thursday, June 17

Undesign the Redline: DSM

The Undesign the Redline: DSM Live Tour will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17 from on the Polk County Housing Trust Fund Facebook page.

Virtual Juneteenth Celebration

 

A reading of the Emancipation of Proclamation will be held during the virtual Juneteenth festival. The festival is three days — June 18-20, 2020 — and will stream on DSMTV Live. Visit iowapublicradio.org and search “Iowa Juneteenth celebration” for more information.

Industry Playbooks + the DSM Forward Initiative

The DSM Forward industry and business function playbooks are currently available on The Partnership’s website. Downtown Farmers’ Market Online Marketplace

Order from vendors virtually and access locally produced food by searching through the Online Markeplace. Each vendor will coordinate pick-up times/location and delivery options with customers.

Other farmers’ markets around Greater Des Moines (DSM) will reopen with physical distancing requirements implemented due to COVID-19.
