2021 Affiliate Chamber Spotlight: Clive Chamber of Commerce
Despite the many challenges faced in 2020, the Clive Chamber held five ribbon cuttings for new businesses, hosted the annual Tri-Chamber golf outing in August (with the Urbandale and West Des Moines Chambers), went completely virtual for Ladies Bingo Night in November, hosted our first Small Business Saturday Scavenger Hunt, published our first ever Holiday Guide and launched the Clive Chamber Quarterly Magazine.
In 2021, we look forward to getting slightly back to a better normal and continue to offer both virtual/in-person event options for our members. Our Clive Chamber Annual Dinner, which is normally hosted in February, was moved to Tuesday, April 20. We look forward to celebrating with our members in whichever way they are most comfortable!
As we continue to move forward in 2021, we want to remain supportive of our members and create awareness of the Clive business community. We have created a new campaign, #WhyClive? and are currently highlighting Clive Chamber Member Testimonials on our social media platforms.

What Inspired You to First Get Involved with Your Chamber?
As a new employee [at Lincoln Savings Bank] and new member in the community, I wanted to meet new people and find a way to give back.
What is a Signature Offering of Your Chamber?
Ladies Bingo Night! We will be holding our fourth event in the fall of 2021. This signature event was created to allow women to have a fun night out, while raising funds for the Clive Chamber Intern Program, as well as a Scholarship Fund for seniors at both Waukee and Valley high schools!
What is Your Chamber’s Biggest Accomplishment in the Past 12 Months?
At the end of 2020, we published our first Quarterly Digital Magazine, as well as our 2020 Holiday Gift Guide.
What Initiative/Project Are You Looking Forward to in the Upcoming Year?
Telling our story! One of our biggest initiatives we decided on during strategic planning was to create awareness for our Clive members and community.
What Partnership Tools/Resources Have Been Most Beneficial to Your Chamber Members?
The Greater Des Moines Partnership did a phenomenal job in sharing COVID-19 business communication. They really helped keep members up to date on available funding/who qualified, provided resources members could use, shared best practices and clarified various proclamations in regards to public gatherings, serving clients etc.
