Ballet Des Moines Presents: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Friday, April 26 – Sunday, April 28 | Hoyt Sherman Place
Immerse yourself in the classic comedy by Shakespeare, including love, trickery and magic. The production will feature a talented cast made up of both professional Ballet Des Moines dancers and youth dancers from around Greater Des Moines (DSM).

7th Annual Lemon Trail Ride

Saturday, April 27 | Starts & Ends at Exile Brewing Co.
Get your bike in gear! The 12-mile roundtrip route will include the chance to stop at Jethro’s Southside, El Bait Shop, Ernie’s and Captain Roy’s. The cost is $30 to participate, with proceeds benefiting the Friends of Des Moines Parks.

Notable Women of Early Des Moines: Cemetery Tours

Saturday, April 27 | Woodland Cemetery
Visit the final resting place of some of Des Moines’ most resilient women. Learn about their history by celebrating their accomplishments: the area’s first preschools, the first public art gallery, the first orphanage, the first free public library, the first city plan (and many more achievements!). The 1.5-mile walking tour of the Woodland Cemetary will include commentary from Lorna Truck and Kat Rinken, spanning approximately two hours.

Tuesdays, April 30 | Truman’s Pizza Tavern
Every Tuesday, enjoy live trivia at Truman’s, with teams made up of 2 to 6 players. Two rounds of trivia, 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., are available to choose from — or you can participate in both! First, second and third place finishers receive gift card prizes, and beers are $1 off. If you have a blast, come back the following night for music bingo, which takes place every Wednesday at 7 and 8 p.m. at Truman’s.
