Downtown DSM Silent Disco

Silent Disco has become a very popular craze for all ages and now is your chance to participate in one! Save the date for Friday, Oct. 14 for the Downtown DSM Silent Disco at Western Gateway Park from 7 to 11 p.m. This entire event is FREE for everyone, and all ages are encouraged to participate. Participants will have a chance to receive free glowsticks and hot cocoa.

What is a Silent Disco?

It is a dance party where attendees listen to live music on their own through headphones. You can choose what music you listen to and how loud you listen to it. This is a great option for those with sensory and hearing sensitivities.

Take in the Sights on the Bcycle

Before the party starts at 7 p.m. take a family tour of Downtown DSM on a Bcycle. See how many murals you can find, ride along the Principal Riverwalk and/or grab dinner or a special treat from one of the many downtown restaurants. There are 17 checkout stations around Downtown DSM, and a one-hour bike rental is just $15.

Grab Dinner Before You Dance!

Downtown DSM has no shortage of great family-friendly restaurants. Make sure you fill your belly before you dance the night away.

  • Zombie Burger is a great option if you are looking for fun burgers and milkshakes.
  • Feel like pizza? Check out Franka Pizzeria for pizza and drinks. They offer a great kids' menu and a great Happy Hour from 3 – 6 p.m.
  • Before heading home make sure to grab some fresh, warm cookies for dessert at Insomnia Cookies.
