  1. First Friday // 60 FPS – A Festival of Video Games, Board Games & Illustration
    Friday, Aug. 5 | Mainframe Studios
    Mainframe’s third annual festival brings an experience combining virtual reality environments, video games, board games, arcade games, comics and interactive art plus live music, food and drinks, tours of the Studios and a meet-the-artist opportunity. Free and open to the public.

  2. Iowa Cubs vs. Toledo
    Sunday, Aug. 7 | Principal Park
    The Iowa Cubs become the Demonios to take on Toledo at Principal Park. Bring the kids to the game and let them run the bases after (13 and under).

  3. Meditation
    Sunday, Aug. 7 | Robert D. Ray Asian Gardens
    Calm the mind and relax the body. The Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden’s Director of Horticulture, Aaron Harpold, will lead a walking meditation through the garden and areas surrounding the pavilion. BYO chair or mat to this free, all-inclusive event.

  4. Machine Gun Kelly Mainstream Sellout Tour
    Tuesday, Aug. 9 | Wells Fargo Arena
    With several recent accolades from the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, iHeart Radio, MTV and several others, Machine Gun Kelly will headline at the Iowa Event Center’s Wells Fargo Arena in Downtown DSM, along with special guests Travis Barker and Willow.

  5. Iowa State Fair Parade
    Wednesday, Aug. 10 | Downtown Des Moines
    As the beloved kickoff to the Iowa State Fair, the parade gathers thousands in Downtown DSM to enjoy favorite Iowa sights including marching bands, classic cars, animals, vehicles and more — with an estimated 200 parade entries. Bring the whole family for a fun evening in Downtown DSM!
