Friday, Dec. 2 | Science Center of Iowa 
Bring your besties for a fun night at SCI for adults only! Must be 21+ to attend. Attendees can grab a drink and explore the exhibits throughout the building and create their own one-of-a-kind holiday gifts including felted ornaments, laser cut name plates, reusable hand warmers and more.

Saturday, Dec. 3 | Historic Court District 
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., shop local vendors for your holiday gifts, meals and more — all outdoors in the heart of Downtown DSM. You’ll find late season produce, meat, cheese, eggs, baked goods, Iowa wines, salsa, jelly and jam plus art and handcrafted items, jewelry and apparel, wreaths, bouquets and so much more! Jingle Bell Stroll 

Saturday, Dec. 3 | Gray’s Lake 
Bring the whole family to enjoy outdoor seasonal festivities Downtown! Walk the holiday-themed loop, with games and crafts along the way. Meet a real, live reindeer and snag a photo with Santa! Hot chocolate and holiday music will add even more magic for little ones.

Winter Beer Run 

Sunday, Dec. 4 | Confluence Brewing Co. 
This 3k-ish fun run is an event produced by the Iowa Brewery Running Series™. Participants can run, jog or walk the route weaving around the taproom and nearby Gray’s Lake, then enjoy a free craft beer from Confluence, swag, games, goodies and giveaways.

Ballet Des Moines Presents The Nutcracker 

Thursday, Dec. 8 – Sunday, Dec. 11 | Hoyt Sherman Place 
The holiday tradition continues! Iowa’s only professional performance of this beloved ballet takes place right here in Downtown DSM. With six performance times to choose from, you’ll be drawn into the dreamy story of little Clara as she meets the Nutcracker, Mouse King, Sugarplum Fairy and more famed characters.
