What’s New in Downtown DSM: June 2026
From new businesses and community amenities to development updates and neighborhood improvements, there’s always something happening in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Each month, we’ll round up some of the latest openings, announcements and projects shaping the heart of DSM. Here’s what’s new in Downtown DSM for June 2026.

24K Juice Cafe
24K Juice Cafe
400 Locust St. Suite 130 Fresh juices, smoothies and wellness-focused beverages are now in downtown with the grand opening of 24K Juice. The new business adds another healthy dining option for those working, living and exploring Downtown DSM.

Cap City Cigars
1536 2nd Ave. Cap City Cigars officially opened its doors, adding a new specialty retail experience to Downtown DSM. The business offers cigar enthusiasts a place to shop, relax and connect with fellow patrons in the heart of the city.

DART Launches All New Routes & Schedules

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) has implemented new maps and schedules throughout its service area. The updates are designed to improve the rider experience and help connect residents, employees and visitors throughout DSM.

Gray’s Station Community Clubhouse

Gray’s Station continues to add new amenities for residents with the opening of its community clubhouse and fitness center. The new facility is now available for homeowners to use, and a grand opening celebration is planned for Thursday, June 18, 2026. Residents can also keep an eye out for the neighborhood pool, which is expected to open soon.

Also new in Gray’s Station: The neighborhood’s new LINC building will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can stop by to explore the new space and enjoy treats from local partners, including Cozy, Pls. Coffee & Matcha mobile cart and Sunday Mornings.

A local favorite is bringing its cozy atmosphere and specialty coffee offerings to Downtown DSM. Happy Home Coffee will celebrate the opening of its newest location on Saturday, June 20, 2026, becoming the first public-facing amenity to open within Mezzo on Walnut. The new café will create another gathering space for residents, workers and visitors looking for handcrafted drinks and a welcoming place to connect.

The transformation of the former Financial Center continues with the launch of Mezzo on Walnut. Leasing is now underway for the first 18 residential floors, and an array of retail and restaurant concepts are planned as the redevelopment progresses.

A newer addition to the Court Avenue District, Ocha Bubble Tea & Dessert Cafe offers bubble tea, shaved ice, croffles and other sweet treats. The Downtown location opened earlier this year, adding another locally owned dining option to the neighborhood.

Healthcare access continues to expand in Downtown DSM with the opening of the UnityPoint Health – Methodist Atrium Outpatient Pharmacy. Located within the Downtown medical district, the new pharmacy provides added convenience for patients, employees and visitors.
