Stein is best known as the author of contemporary classic “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” a quirky and inspiring novel about a beloved philosopher dog named Enzo who encourages humans to chase after their dreams. The Festival has also previously announced a third headlining author, Susan Orlean, through the Des Moines Public Library’s Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AViD) series.
