Des Moines Symphony Virtual Yankee Doodle Pops
The Des Moines Symphony presents Yankee Doodle Pops “The Dream of America” during a livestream concert on Saturday, July 4. Music will include favorites like The Stars and Stripes Forever and the 1812 Overture. Visit the Facebook page for more information on to set a reminder for the event.
Absentee Ballot Request
Beginning Monday, July 6, residents can request absentee ballots from sos.iowa.gov.
One Economy Blueprint for Action Recap
This past week, The Partnership along with the Directors Council, KCCI and the Des Moines Register held the One Economy Blueprint for Action Zoom meeting. The event guided conversations on creating long-term changes for Blacks and those of African descent in Iowa with sessions on housing, education, employment, financial inclusion and health. How to Support Minority-Owned Business Event
The Partnership will host the “How to Support Minority-Owned Business By Creating a Supplier Diversity Program” from 2-3:30 on Thursday, July 30. Speaker Kathey Porter will share how to gain a competitive edge by successfully launching a Supplier Diversity Program.
