DSM is a 12-county region of urban, suburban and rural communities in the heart of Iowa. With sustained, continued momentum, the region attracts new businesses, helps existing businesses expand, cultivates talent and fosters a flourishing quality of life.

The Greater Des Moines Partnership is the largest regional business, economic development and talent development organization in Iowa with more than 400 Investors and 7,200 local Member businesses – all united in one mission. On a national scale, we are the second-largest regional chamber in the entire country. Through our unique Affiliate Chamber of Commerce dual-membership model, which supports thousands of organizations, we unite business, government, education and nonprofits for unmatched collaboration. The Partnership grows opportunity, helps create jobs and promotes DSM as the best place to build a business, a career and a future. 

The DSM Region

Twelve counties comprise the DSM region: Adair, Clarke, Dallas, Guthrie, Jasper, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek and Warren. The region has a population of more than 885,000 people.
