Reach Customers Online with Google Webinar Recap
Greater Des Moines Partnership Director of Small Business Resources Christina Moffatt welcomed Dave Meyer, a speaker/trainer with Google and the owner of BizzyWeb. Dave hosted a webinar on how business owners across Greater Des Moines (DSM) can “Reach Customers Online with Google.” During the webinar, Dave focused on how Google helps businesses reach customers, resources to help you appear across Google and how to reach customers with online advertising.
Dave says it’s important how people ask specific questions prior to clicking on your business. By having content on your website and your Google properties, you can leverage micro-moments, the moments after a potential customer opens their web browser to search for information.
Google’s search results include URLs, page titles and descriptions. The search results page also includes shopping and text ads, as well as related searches. Dave says related searches are important because you can see what people are searching for that you haven’t considered before.
Dave shares tips for appearing in organic search results, including:
- Relevant Content
- Logical Organization
- Accurate Page Titles/Descriptions
- Optimized Images
- Fast Load Time
- Mobile Optimization
Other Google tools to help maintain a strong online presence include the Test My Site tool, the Search Console and Google Analytics. Google Trends is another way to find what people are searching for in relation to something else.
When trying to reach customers, Google Ads offer a way to make sales, as well as obtain market research. There are two kinds of Google ads:
- Google Search Network ads
- Google Display Network ads
With a Smart Campaign, you can get helpful info for free without spending any money. Small businesses can set up specific ads. You can then use this information to grow your business and make good business decisions.
