Shining a Light on Iowa Nonprofits: Launching a Pro Bono Marketing Partnership Program

For almost 120 years, Lessing-Flynn (LF) has worked with brands doing good in the world. From the manufacturers who keep essential industries moving to healthcare institutions caring for our neighbors, our clients cover a wide range of industries. We’ve found incredible meaning in working with them. After all, we’ve always believed that strong brands help build strong communities.

Now, we’re excited to lean into that idea with LF BrandKind, a new pro bono marketing partnership program supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Greater Des Moines (DSM) and surrounding communities. This year, we’ll select one organization to receive a fully customized marketing and branding package valued at up to $25,000. And applications are open now!

Our team members are remarkably active in our communities, dedicating thousands of hours each year to involvement in professional associations, nonprofit organizations, charities and causes. If we are going to live in our communities, we feel it is our obligation to invest in them as well.

LF BrandKind is our way of putting that belief into action for organizations that are doing some of the most important work in Central Iowa that may not have access to the same marketing resources as larger organizations.

Who Can Apply for LF BrandKind?

LF BrandKind is open to any registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in or primarily serving Central Iowa. Organizations only need to describe their mission, the audiences they serve, their marketing or communication need, and how improved visibility will advance their work.

What Can the Selected Organization Expect?

Our team will work side by side with the selected organization to creatively solve its brand challenges. The package — valued at up to $25,000 worth of agency time — will be tailored to the most urgent and meaningful marketing needs. That will look different for every applicant, but could include:

  • Brand strategy or messaging framework.
  • A brand refresh.
  • Creative development.
  • Marketing campaign strategy and activation.
  • Video production or digital storytelling.
  • Website development or refresh.
  • Capital campaign branding, messaging and materials.

Whether it’s a brand refresh, a targeted campaign or a new way to share their mission, together we’ll help inspire action. Because when bold ideas meet brave causes, communities move forward.
