Leading in Times of Challenge with Rowena Crosbie

Rowena Crosbie is the president at Tero International. She is the co-author of "Your Invisible Toolbox: The Technological Ups and Interpersonal Downs of the Millennial Generation" and co-host of the show, “Your Invisible Toolbox.” She also serves on the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s executive committee and board of directors, as well as many other boards.

Tero International specializes in the development of interpersonal skills, including leadership and presentation skills. Rowena says that the training usually occurs in person so COVID-19 has disrupted the way in which they do business.

Thinking Creativity

What’s interesting about the COVID-19 crisis, Rowena says, is that there hasn’t been another time of turbulence for the business where they weren’t able to still go out and serve their clients. In this situation, Tero is moving a bit towards virtual training, but the business cannot run as it used to. To keep morale up among employees, Tero has focused on financing and has not had to disrupt employment internally. She explains how daily staff meetings spend time on where people are emotionally, reinventing job descriptions and thinking creatively about the business.
