Q&A

What’s a day in your job like? I support lead advisors with client planning activities. I ensure clients receive exceptional and timely service, and is responsible for coordinating client reporting and analysis.

What are your passions outside of work? When you’re not at work, what will we find you doing? Outside of work you can probably find me studying for my upcoming CFP exam or attempting to teach myself how to play the guitar. I also enjoy attending as many YPC events as possible and meeting new people.

Where’s your favorite (something) in Greater Des Moines (DSM)? My favorite thing about Des Moines is there’s always something to do! Growing up in a town of ~1000 people it’s so fun to having so much going on in Des Moines. I love going to the Des Moines Farmers' Market and playing sand volleyball  in the summer and enjoying all of the local restaurants around town.

What role has mentorship played in your career? I have had the greatest mentor the past few years. My boss had helped guide me through my master’s program and now guide me through the process of becoming a Certified Financial Planner. Her guidance has allowed me to achieve my academic goals, but has also supported me in getting involved with the Des Moines community.

What are your words to live by? Life is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we react to it.

What projects have you been involved with in YPC? During 2015, I served on both the Social and Professional Development committees and planned events with each. I planned the Jenga tournament for our Happy Hour at Up-Down last February and was also actively involved in planning the Professional Development event “Get Golf Ready” for Mentors & Mulligans.
