Downtown Farmers’ Market in Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM) offers scores of tasty treats each summer on Saturdays. Visitors can enjoy locally grown produce, farm fresh eggs, baked goods and a variety of Iowa-raised meat. The adventure doesn’t stop there either. Guests can enjoy local artists, live music and entertainment, ready-to-eat foods, special programming and learning opportunities all in the course of a Saturday morning. Whether it’s seasonal flowers, locally produced wine or a new culinary adventure, there’s always something to experience at the Downtown Farmers’ Market. 

This event is free and open to the public. 

UnityPoint Health Programming

As The Market's presenting sponsor, UnityPoint Health brings helpful wellness and prevention programs directly to The Market! UnityPoint Health will be on-site each Saturday with volunteers to support its mission of healing, caring and teaching. Stop by their booth to learn more! This week, UnityPoint Health will be onsite with team members from the Medication Assistance Program.

Spark DSM Vendors

The Spark DSM Business Incubator presented by Principal Financial Group, supports small and/or startup businesses at major events in Greater Des Moines (DSM) including The Market. The Incubator’s goal is to improve access and economic growth for local small businesses across DSM.  

Vendors in Spark DSM will rotate through booth spaces located on Court Ave. between Second and Third Street. This week, stop by to see these businesses:

Stop by the Community Corner on Third Street, south of Court Avenue, to find out what is happening in Greater Des Moines (DSM). Local charitable organizations — welcomed as Saturday Salutes at The Market — promote learning opportunities, Downtown events and community resources each Saturday. This week, check out the Saturday Salutes: 

  • Ring in Peace: Ring in Peace is an organization that encourages folks around the world to ring a bell at noon with the intention of World Peace.
  • Iowa Donor Network: Iowa Donor Network (IDN) is a non-profit organization that operates as the primary contact for organ, tissue and eye donation services for the state of Iowa. IDN functions as the single organ procurement agency in the state. IDN also serves as the tissue (eye, skin, bone and tendons) recovery agency for the state. As an organization, we strive to provide the best possible care to our donor families and service to our referring professionals to facilitate the recovery of organs and tissues, educate the communities we serve and support special events to promote donation throughout Iowa. To fulfill our mission, we collaborate with the Iowa Lions Eye Bank, healthcare professionals and organizations statewide to honor the gift of life.
