Downtown Farmers' Market 'Huge' for the Wheatgrass Girl

Regulars to the Downtown Farmers’ Market will be familiar with Fresh Café & Market run by Kerri Rush, better known as “the wheatgrass girl.”

Now in her 15th year at The Market, Rush has built up a reputation for the wheatgrass she grows in Carlisle, part of Greater Des Moines (DSM), which she juices and sells as frozen concentrate.

“The Downtown Farmer’s Market has been huge for us in allowing us to try out new products,” Rush said. “Selling wheatgrass juice and carrot, orange and ginger juice wasn’t always very popular 15-years ago when we started at The Market, but it’s caught on.”

What's New in 2018

This year, Rush is bringing back a lot of her customers’ favorites including her balanced smoothie, her popular lemonade and of course her wheatgrass shots. Be sure to check out her new products this year including fruit infused waters every Saturday morning at the Downtown Farmers' Market.
