For the past 17 years, Kyle Krause has been the CEO/chairman of Kum & Go and Krause Group. Krause Group is involved in two wineries and a resort in Italy, Krause Group Real Estate companies, the Des Moines Menace soccer team, Solar Transport, Pro Iowa and more.

In business, Kyle says there are many opportunities of challenges that you deal with. When Kyle became CEO of Kum & Go, he had to approach his father about changing the original business model and building a new competency. In pivoting the business, Kyle had to balance his family and respect the heritage of the business with moving forward. When met with resistance, Kyle helped his team through the transition by focusing on communication with senior team members. It’s up to leadership to explain the why and the bigger vision. Kyle also touches on how he takes care of himself during challenging times, including the importance of family meals and putting the work away.
