Q&A

Q: What do you do for a living?

A: Equity Transition Partners is a boutique private equity firm. I analyze private equity investments in Midwest-based agriculture companies. This could include a university biotech startup or an established company. When I'm not working on new investments I help our existing portfolio companies with corporate financing and business operation decisions.

Q: How are you involved in Greater Des Moines (DSM)? I'm relatively new to Des Moines, but I've been active in the Impact Downtown Committee through attending the monthly meeting and Morning Meet-Ups. I think Young Professionals Connection (YPC) is a great venue for YP's to get involved and impact Des Moines and Iowa and the Midwest.

Q: What are some of your favorite things to do in Des Moines?

A: I try to make it to the Farmers' Market at least once a month when it's open. 80/35 is a blast and brings in great bands. Checking out the restaurants or bars featured in area papers is always a good way to get out and see a new part of DSM.  I'm also okay with hanging out with friends or reading a book.

Q: What's something that people don't about you?

A: I studied abroad in Greece during the fall of 2008. It was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone that has the chance.

Q: Anything else we should know?

A: I think its important to get involved and make an impact on your surroundings and as young professionals we have a great opportunity to shape the future, hopefully for the better.
