Chamber of Commerce Day in 2021: An Opportunity to Grow in Your Community
The Greater Des Moines Partnership has 24 Affiliate Chambers of Commerce working together to help build a strong region, connecting through networking opportunities and elevating Greater Des Moines (DSM) as a great place to work, live and play. As we celebrate Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day today (Oct. 20, 2021), here are a few ways you can support DSM chambers as an individual or business in the region:
Support Local DSM Businesses
Businesses involved in their local chambers are also directly involved with The Partnership’s dual-membership model. This means businesses are included in The Partnership’s Directory and are part of an effort to support economic development across the region. Business owners that become a part of their local chamber will reap the benefits within that chamber, as well as through their membership with The Partnership as a regional business, and residents and visitors to DSM can support these businesses by searching through Partnership Members for the area they live in or visit regularly.
Find Untapped Talent in DSM
Businesses across the region are looking for talented individuals to invest in to grow the local economy and create a place where people want to live, work and play. No matter which regional chamber you belong to, by becoming a member, you’ll have access to diversity and inclusion resources, including blog articles, recent research, helpful webinars and in-person events that dive into the benefits of employing untapped talent pools. Looking at your DEI hiring strategies can have a huge effect on your local chamber and community’s success.
Connect Through Local Events
Each chamber in DSM has its own calendar of events, full of lunch-and-learn networking events, holiday gatherings, ribbon cuttings and more. Many of these are added to The Partnership calendar here, but you can find them on affiliate chamber websites as well. As a business owner or employee, you can network at these events, or on an individual level, find commonalities with other local residents in order to give back or just connect with other residents.
Share Your Story on Social Media
