Greater Des Moines Partnership Recognized as a Top Economic Development Organization

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (May 6, 2020) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has won a Mac Conway Award for Excellence in Economic Development from Site Selection magazine. The awards, named in honor of Site Selection founding publisher H. McKinley "Mac" Conway, are awarded to the top local and regional U.S. economic development groups based on an index of corporate job creation and facility-related capital investment data calculated both cumulatively and per capita.

The Partnership is featured in an article in the May 2020 issue of Site Selection. The article mentions several of the major employers in Greater Des Moines (DSM) as well as significant projects by companies including Amazon, Wright Service Corporation, Fidelity & Guaranty Life and Accordia Life & Annuity. The Partnership reported contributing to $1.27 billion in new capital investments, 22 local business expansion projects and 11 new companies relocating to DSM in 2019. This led to 1,094 new or retained jobs.
