22nd Annual Des Moines’ Original Oktoberfest Will Feature Traditional Favorites, Roctoberfest Bands & Porsche Giveaway
Des Moines’ Original Oktoberfest is returning to the District at Prairie Trail in Ankeny to celebrate its 22nd year. After converting the community into the “Munich of the Midwest” last year, organizers are thrilled to return to Ankeny again this year.
The festival will expand offerings and entertainment this year and will kick off with the traditional tapping of the Golden Keg at 3:00 on Friday and later that evening, Community Choice Credit Union will be giving away a Porsche - everyone’s favorite German sportscar!

Des Moines’ Oktoberfest features authentic German food vendors, German Beer, Iowa Breweries serving Oktoberfest-style beers, craft cocktails, the region’s finest polka bands and free polka dancing lessons, Rocktoberfest (Cover Bands) both nights, carnival games, contests with prizes and so much more!
Single day tickets are just $20 or weekend passes can be purchased for $30. Each day attendees receive a commemorative acrylic stein. To purchase tickets and to see complete festival details, visit oktoberfestdsm.com.
