Downtown Farmers' Market to Host Drive-Through Winter Farmers' and Makers' Market
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Oct. 21, 2020) – The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines will hold a Drive-Through Winter Farmers’ and Makers’ Market this year in lieu of the traditional indoor Winter Market. The Drive-Through Winter Market will be held Saturday, Nov. 21 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Principal Park parking lot located at 1 Line Drive in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). The Drive-Through Winter Market will include 30 vendors selling a variety of products, gift items from local artists and makers, food and drink options and more. Patrons are invited to shop an assortment of late-season produce, meat, cheese, wine, artisan foods, pies, pastries, bread, honey, jam, salsa and more.
Vendors will be set up along the perimeter of the parking lot at Principal Park. Customers can either pre-order items online and attend The Drive-Through Winter Market to pick them up, or may shop in-person from their vehicles. This alternative market layout will allow customers to connect and purchase from vendors who would typically be at the indoor Winter Market.

As the gift-giving season approaches, the Drive-Through Winter Farmers’ and Makers’ Market will act as a primary touch-point between consumers and local artisans. The Drive-Through Winter Market takes place just one week before Small Business Saturday, a national effort to support small businesses.
