Jay Byers Re-Elected to World Chambers Federation General Council
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb. 18, 2020) – Jay Byers, CEO of the Greater Des Moines Partnership, has been re-elected to represent the United States chamber of commerce industry on the General Council of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Chambers from more than 100 countries voted for 20 representatives to serve on the leadership group for the 2020-2022 term.
The General Council is responsible for defining the strategic direction and development of WCF services. It works to promote and reinforce chambers of commerce as facilitators of global trade and drivers of local private sector development and sustainable growth.
“It is an honor to serve on the WCF General Council and to help promote international trade to elevate the global economy,” said Byers. “The WCF also provides a unique global platform to showcase The Partnership’s Global DSM trade, investment and international talent strategies on the international stage.”
Byers has served as CEO of The Partnership since 2012. In this role, he helped The Partnership launch and implement the Global DSM: Trade and Investment Strategy to help DSM companies increase exports and help attract foreign direct investment to DSM and the Global DSM: International Talent Strategy to help attract and retain foreign-born talent in DSM.
