Young Professionals Connection (YPC) Announces 2025-26 Board Of Directors

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (June 17, 2025) – The Young Professionals Connection (YPC) has announced the 2025-26 Board of Directors. YPC's mission is to promote an environment that attracts and retains young professionals in Greater Des Moines (DSM). Its efforts focus on connecting young professionals to each other and to the community through social, civic, charitable and professional development endeavors. 

The YPC 2025-2026 Board of Directors includes:  

  • Past President: Cecily Robinson 

  • 2025 President: Reilly Smidt 

  • 2026 President-Elect: Alex Gillach 

  • Treasurer & Secretary: James Van Diest 

  • Communications Director: Megan Hurd 

  • Professional Development Chair: Amit Mahapatra 

  • Volunteer Chair: Shiven Sinha 

  • Civic Chair: Amelia Arku 

  • Social Chair: Liv Wendt 

  • Membership Chair: Maura Saltzman 

  • Impact Downtown Chair: Bryan Stewart 

  • Athletics Coordinator: Sammie Wampler 

  • Social Media Coordinator: Abhishek Gaur 

  • Digital Coordinator: Lauren Hilton 

Two board positions remain open: Diversity & Culture Chair and Community - Engagement Director. Applications will be accepted through Monday, Aug. 18 for anyone interested in getting involved and helping shape the future of YPC. Applications can be found here

“Stepping into the role of YPC President is an exciting opportunity to serve and uplift the young professionals who are shaping the future of Greater Des Moines,” said Reilly Smidt, Board President of the Young Professionals Connection. “This year, YPC will celebrate 25 years of impact. We invite past and present members and new faces from all over the community to join us at the Annual Gala to celebrate the past, welcome our new board and look ahead to another incredible year of empowering young professionals in DSM.” 

The YPC Annual Gala is set for Thursday, July 31 from 6 – 9:30 p.m. at The Shop – DSM Event Center in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Tickets to the gala are available through Sunday, July 27 and you can purchase your tickets here. This year’s theme, Silver Reflections, honors YPC’s 25th anniversary and the tradition of commemorating the milestone years with silver. It's a celebration of connection, community and the lasting impact of young professionals across DSM.
