Take a walk and see for yourself!
We love a good summer brunch. Crispy bacon, fresh fruit, fluffy pancakes, all on a warm summer morning. It doesn't get better than that! As summer draws to a close, we want to know, where's DSM's best summer brunch?
To the find the best brunch in DSM we're bringing in March Madness brackets. You can vote on Facebook for your favorite DSM brunch spot and cheer them on to number one. The competition will start with the Sweet & Savory Sixteen, Egg-citing Eight, the Final Fork and, finally, the Championship Brunch. The winner will be crowned best brunch in DSM!

The World Food & Music Festival is firing up a Community Cookout on Sept. 12.
Here in Iowa, September often means tailgating and enjoying fall sports. Even though this season looks different, we invite you to show your team spirit and your cultural roots in this first ever Community Cookout on Saturday, Sept. 12. We invite residents across the region to decorate their driveways and balconies for a home tailgate to show support for your favorite team, whether it be football, baseball, basketball, hockey or any other sport. Not a fan of sports? Decorate your tailgate with a global feel, reflect your own personal heritage or make your own mini-World Food & Music Festival. Residents are encouraged to cook dishes that represent your heritage, a special tradition or a dish that has a personal meaning. Do you make the best homemade pierogi? Show it off. Do you have a recipe from your family's homeland that dates back generations? Now is the time to make it. There are no boundaries on what you can create. Anything and everything is on the table.
Participating tailgaters can win a special prize package of goodies and swag from the World Food & Music Festival. To win, participants just need to share a picture of their tailgate and special dish to the Community Cookout Event on Facebook. One winner will be selected by Sept. 20 based on community enthusiasm.
Community Cookout Grand Prize
The Grand Prize is: one Tandem Bud Light Bicycle, World Food & Music Festival merchandise (one apron, one set of 100 mini flags, two maracas, two koozies, two stickers and two cups) and $50 in food and drink tickets for the 2021 World Food & Music Festival. The total value for the prize is $528.00.
