This Week at The Market: Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026

You've only got three more weeks to shop vendors, enjoy live entertainment and take part in family-friendly activities at the Downtown Farmers' Market presented by Unitypoint Health. This week's Market will also welcome Opening Bell Ringer Des Moines Performing Arts at the start of The Market. Start your day at 8 a.m. at the corner of 3rd and Court in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). UnityPoint Health will also be onsite with team members from the Child Life department. Stop by the UnityPoint Health booth to learn more.

Vendors to Visit

October 17 is National Pasta Day so don't miss out on the seven pasta-related vendors listed below! You can find the complete list of Market vendors for Oct. 17 here.

  • Barb's Garden & Pantry: Not only does Barb's Garden & Pantry offer jams and jellies, but you can find salsas and pasta sauce, too. Booths C-204 and C-206 have what you're looking for — check it out!
  • Big Sky Bread: What's better to pair with pasta than delicious focaccia bread? Stop by baked good vendor Big Sky Bread at booths 3N-07 and 3N-09 and pick from flavors like Asiago Garlic, Jalapeno Cheddar and Parmesan Garlic.
  • DSM Pasta Co.: Get your small-batch pasta sauce from booth 4N-22! DSM Pasta Co. just launched their brand-new website, so you can also order pasta to be shipped, set up a local delivery or quick pickup.
  • Fireside Winery: Pair your pasta with an Iowa-based fruit wine from Fireside Winery. Booth 3S-01 has options like Rhubarb, Mead, Elderberry and Dandelion.
  • Frisian Farms Cheese: At booths C-322 and C-324, family-owned Frisian Farms Cheese stocks gouda cheeses to go along with your next pasta meal. Try the Aged, Smoked or Italian cheeses. Frisian Farms was recently highlighted in the recent TravelMag.com article 8 Iowa Cheese Shops and Creameries Worth a Fall Road Trip, too ... Congrats!
  • Ineichen Tomatoes: Purchase homegrown tomatoes at booths C-224 and C-226 to make your own pasta sauce at home!

You won't want to miss this week's Spark DSM Vendors either. Located on Court Avenue between Second and Third Streets, check out Luvcat Baking Co. and Soil to Soul.
