The Downtown Farmers' Market presented by UnityPoint Health returns Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026 from 7 a.m. until Noon in the Historic Court District of Downtown Des Moines (DSM). If you're planning to attend the World Food & Music Festival this weekend, why not stop by cultural vendors at the Downtown Farmers' Market before you go? Discover what's in season as we approach September and create your own cultural dishes at home!
This week, Veridian Credit Union, the Presenting Sponsor of the World Food & Music Festival will ring the Opening Bell at 7 a.m. at the corner of 3rd Street and Court Avenue.
Vendors to Visit
This Saturday is your opportunity to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies and find cultural booths with unique creations. Take a look at seven recommended vendors below! You can also check out the complete list of Market vendors for Aug. 29 here.
- Churros Artesanales: Buy homemade, 100% Mexican churros from a family business in Des Moines. Stop by booth 2N-10 to try churro bites, mini churros and more!
- Exoticas: Check out the latest exotic fruits at booth 5N-05. From baby bananas to dragon fruit, Exoticas has unique options at The Market as well as their regular location at 6401 SE 14th St. in Des Moines.
- Jerusalem Bakery: Looking for delicate pastries and homemade fresh bread? Jerusalem Bakery has Baklava, Basbousa and more at booth C-316.
- Lupe's Flowers: Flower arrangements filled with zinnias, snap dragons, marigolds and more are grown in Des Moines and hand-tied into beautiful bouquets. Check out booth 2N-06 to purchase one of your own. Even the fur babies love them!
- Nadia's French Bakery: Make your way to booth 3S-10 for warm French pastries, including items like flaky croissants, beignets, cinnamon rolls and other tasty options.
- Piedras Haseya: Find handcrafted gemstone and crystal jewelry at booth C-405.
- Rosechu: At booth 4S-33, order a Rosechu Matcha or macarons and sesame balls. Rosechu is owned by Cua Vang, and you'll know you're at the right booth when you spot Rosechu's mascot, Rosie, whose face is featured on its banners and signs.
You won't want to miss this week's Spark DSM Vendors either. Located on Court Avenue between Second and Third Streets, check out Rachel Reloaded, Francie Jean's, Matcha Luv and Muddy Puddles Ice Cream.
Schedule Highlights
Join presenting sponsor UnityPoint Health to visit team members from Eyerly Ball, a UnityPoint location that focuses on behavioral health, mental health and substance use treatment. Live entertainment from Sean Sullivan, Azymth 432 and more will perform as you shop, and you can find resources from the Iowa Cubs and The 515 Tower at The Market's Community Corner.
