October 19, 2015

The Regional Leadership Council will host the second-annual Converge workshop on October 27. Converge will bring together leadership program participants and alumni from Central Iowa to learn and connect on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 2:30 – 6 p.m. at Drake University. This year the focus will be intentional leadership through integrity and civility and will feature Dr. Matt Davidson, a national expert from the Institute for Excellence & Ethics. Registration and additional information can be found by visiting gdmli.com/event-2027807

Session Summary
Community leadership is an essential element of a vibrant community, and a role to which many leaders feel called. However, leading in the community requires a particular mindset and a set of skills; it requires intentionality. Good people and good causes do not guarantee a process marked by integrity and civility, or the full realization of desired outcomes. Excellence with integrity is the means and end-goal for leading in the community. Educational, motivational, and replicable – this leadership session focuses on the interpersonal skills and habits, as well as the replicable group processes for enhanced community leadership.

About Dr. Davidson
Through his work at the Institute for Excellence & Ethics, Dr. Matthew Davidson seeks to foster optimal performance in individuals and organizations through the assessment and development of leadership, teamwork, work ethic and overall well-being. He has dedicated nearly 20 years to theory, practice and assessment of character and culture.
