Chamber Board of Directors hires Indianola resident as new Executive Director

June 26, 2014

The Indianola Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce Brenda Easter as the new Executive Director. Easter is a long-time resident and small business owner of Indianola.

Easter has led business development, program development and delivery, and marketing and communications efforts for more than 17 years while employed by the state of Iowa. Most recently, she was the chief operating officer and director of business development for Energy MarketAccess, a small business located in West Des Moines, Iowa.

The Board of Directors is confident in Easter’s ability to advance the Chamber’s new mission to foster a vibrant economic environment and enhance the overall quality of life through collaboration and communication with members, government and community organizations. “Brenda’s background and experience in community development, as well as strong leadership is exactly what the Chamber is looking for,” said Dr. Laura Drees, President of the Indianola Chamber of Commerce.

“I am excited about this opportunity,” said Easter. “I am looking forward to working with local businesses, community leaders and members, and the Chamber board as we continue to build a strong network of businesses to serve our community.” Easter believes it is equally important for the community to support our local businesses and encourages everyone to “think Indianola” before shopping anywhere else.

Easter replaces Denise Day who recently resigned after nine years with the Indianola Chamber
