TPI Composites' Employee Base Represents 46 Countries

TPI Composites, a global leader in wind turbine manufacturing in Greater Des Moines (DSM), has been recognized as a 2018 Inclusion Award Winner by the Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Business Record. The Inclusion Awards honor employers that have championed diversity and inclusion at their organizations and within the community.

Reaching Underserved Areas

TPI has adjusted its talent pipeline to focus attention on reaching underserved areas.

“We have 46 countries represented here,” said Reginald McDade, Employment and Staffing Manager at TPI Composites. “I believe we have the most inclusive workforce bar none in this space. We have a wide variety from newest hourly associates through to engineers that are all part of that fabric.” 

As a result, the company has more than 990 associates including an employee base that is 34.6 percent Black or African National and 20 percent Hispanic. Part of the company’s human capital strategy focuses on attracting, welcoming, retaining and developing talent that just needs a chance.

The nominees of the Inclusion Award are evaluated by a selection committee made up of members of The Partnership’s Inclusion Council and past honorees.
