FemCity Des Moines: Uplifting Women in Business

After a few years of uncertainty, FemCity Des Moines is excited to be back in full force for 2023. Created by women for women, FemCity is a community dedicated to arming female entrepreneurs and women in business with everything they need to grow their businesses while also creating authentic relationships.

2023 will bring back some new favorite events and a new initiative to give back to the Greater Des Moines (DSM) community.

First Friday Coffee Connection

First Friday Coffee Connections is a staple for FemCity Des Moines. A morning where women are invited to network, sip coffee and learn about a business owner making their mark on DSM. All sponsorships for 2023 have been secured and registration for First Friday Coffee Connections open at least 30 days in advance. This networking event is open to Business Members and Nonmembers.

Fem Moms Connection

This quarterly meetup is for Business Members only and sponsored/hosted by JouJou Des Moines, a Montessori-inspired play place. Moms in the same season of life are welcome to come together and connect while their children play at JouJou Des Moines. Admission into JouJou Des Moines is included and coffee is provided.

Fems Give Back

FemCity is thrilled to announce a new initiative in partnership with Trixie's Salon & Spa that’s new in 2023. Fems Give Back will be set up similarly to First Friday Coffee Connections. A representative from a nonprofit geared towards women or young girls will be invited to speak about their organization. Tickets for this event are $10 with the option to donate more. All proceeds will be donated to the nonprofit.

Beyond Business Conference

After a successful first-year launch the Beyond Business Conference will be back in September 2023. This day invites everyone to a day of personal and professional growth. It is a full day of everything that FemCity embodies: a place to connect, collaborate and collectively succeed all in a safe space and community that supports and leads with positivity.
