Engage Your Elected Officials in 2023

2023 Elected Officials

The 118th U.S. Congress and Iowa 90th General Assembly has convened. Congress welcomed over 80 first-year lawmakers, including Iowa Congressman Zach Nunn, and the Iowa Legislature welcomed over 40 first-year lawmakers. Also, with nationwide redistricting prior to the Midterm Elections, your elected officials may be vastly different compared to previous years. Therefore, it is vital to begin and maintain relationship building with your elected officials as soon as you can.

Businesses and individuals alike should consider opportunities to build relationships, understanding it is advantageous when issues arise or simply to provide ongoing input to policy makers. One way to start is to invite an elected official for a tour of your business. Offering a tour of your business is an effective way to showcase the talented work happening in their district and for you to share the challenges and issues you may face, which may lead to a legislative solution. See below for information to contact your elected officials and listen to the DSM USA Policy HQ podcast episode on How to Communicate with Congress here for more information.
