  • What To Do: Indianola Downtown Mainstreet is gearing up for Home for the Holidays on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, including the annual lighted parade! Also taking place on Friday, and Satruday, Nov. 21-22, 2025, join the Holiday Happenings at Cortum Farm & Co. and shop for live greenery, wreaths and holiday goods. Returning this year due to popular demand, spend a few hours appreciating beautiful and homey décor during the Tour of Homes: Homes for the Holidays on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025. Then, on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, don’t miss the Candy Cane Hike at Middleswart Lodge, where families can hunt for hidden candy canes along the trails, enjoy hot chocolate and browse the Fall Nature Market craft fair afterward!
  • Where to Shop: Get your holiday shopping done locally at Indianola’s charming boutiques and markets. Stop by The Barn at Daydream Abode for curated Christmas decor, seasonal florals, cozy apparel and unique Iowa-made gifts. Shop at The Barn on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 29, and again on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5-6, 2025. Other must-visit spots to shop local in Indianola include Pamela’s Place, Roots of Indianola, Lula Belle Designs, Adorn Gift & Home, Pageturners Bookstore and The Little Shed on Salem for holiday decor, thoughtful gifts and seasonal treasures.   • Special Holiday Moments: Enjoy a festive night out at the Holiday Trivia Night hosted by Indianola Young Professionals on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at West Hill Brewing Company. Additionally, Simpson College's music department will host its annual holiday concert, Lessons and Carols, on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7, 2025.
