Partnership Announces Promotions, Strategic Alignment

July 31, 2020

(GREATER DES MOINES, IOWA) Friday, July 31, 2020 — The Greater Des Moines Partnership today announced a series of promotions and internal alignments to support the organization and region heading into the future, improve diversity and inclusion, protect and promote the overall economic health and vitality of the region, and prepare for Partnership President Gene Meyer’s upcoming retirement in January 2021.

Effective January 1, 2021, The Partnership, which serves more than 6,500 Regional Business Members and more than 365 Investors, will promote Chief Strategy Officer Tiffany Tauscheck, CCE, IOM, CDME, to Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Communications Courtney Shaw, APR, to Senior Vice President of Communications. These promotions reflect organizational succession planning efforts heading into 2021. Upon Meyer’s retirement, the titles of President and CEO will be consolidated and assumed by Partnership CEO Jay Byers. Effective immediately, Sanjita Pradhan, CDP, who currently serves as the Program Director of Talent Development, will be promoted to Diversity & Inclusion Director.

“Great talent makes a best-in-class organization, and these promotions help us leverage the unique skills and leaders we have in Tiffany, Courtney and Sanjita to build an even stronger DSM,” said Jay Byers, CEO of The Partnership. “I am excited for what the future holds for The Partnership with these leaders taking on new challenges and opportunities.” Tauscheck, who recently earned the designation of Certified Chamber Executive (CCE), will continue to lead organizational strategic planning and culture, Investor Relations and high-profile initiatives — and in January add leadership of Downtown Development and Downtown events, and work closely with Capital Crossroads, the region’s strategic plan of which The Partnership is one of the partner organizations in implementation.

Shaw will lead the communications and marketing team, following Tauscheck’s promotion to COO, and join The Partnership’s Senior Leadership Team. Shaw will lead initiatives and programs that tell the DSM USA story, as well as marketing strategies that elevate the region’s quality of life offerings to current and potential employees and employers alike.

In her new role, Pradhan, who recently was awarded the Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) certification, will work to create a holistic approach to diversity, equity and inclusion within The Partnership, its Member and Investor programs and the region at large.

“The Partnership is making decisions and taking action to retain exceptional talent, further elevate diversity and inclusion, and ensure the organization is in the strongest position possible to serve our Investors, Members and the entire region,” said 2020 Greater Des Moines Partnership Board Chair Tom Mahoney. “These are the right moves at the right time.”
