Meyocks Expands Video Capabilities with Experience from Hollywood

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (March 9, 2020) — A videographer who once worked behind the scenes with stars in Hollywood is now helping to expand the video capabilities of Meyocks, a West Des Moines-based branding and marketing agency.

Andy Erickson brings 15 years of experience in film, TV and video production to Meyocks, including work on more than a dozen TV shows and movies in Los Angeles. As an assistant production manager of the reality TV show “America’s Got Talent,” he worked directly with celebrity judges David Hasselhoff, Jerry Springer, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan to prepare for each show.

After his Hollywood experience, Erickson, a native of Humboldt, returned to Iowa and began applying his storytelling and production management skills to the marketing of brands. “My experiences after film school gave me an in-depth understanding of how instrumental video can be in bringing a client’s marketing plan to life,” Erickson said. “Through video production, we can share our client’s stories with much more emotion.” Erickson has been a board member of the Iowa Motion Picture Association and serves as executive producer and director for the Along the Way Tour, a concert series benefiting Iowa small towns.

In his new position as a branding and content strategist, Erickson will work on both business development and growth of the video capability for Meyocks, an agency that shapes marketplace meaning for food, agriculture, health and mentor brands. Erickson joins the agency at a time of growth. Meyocks has doubled the size of its team over the past 10 years. The agency is making strategic investments in both digital and video capabilities to serve evolving client needs. Meyocks is also undergoing a 4,535-square foot expansion of its office at 6800 Lake Drive in West Des Moines, which will accommodate up to 30 additional team members.

Erickson holds degrees in film and TV production and entertainment business from Full Sail University in Florida. He previously worked in business development for Red Noise 6 Studios and its affiliated agency, Apogee 9. He’s also been an adjunct professor teaching video production at Des Moines Area Community College.
