Connect, Learn, Grow: DSM Intern Connection Opens Registration and Announces Session Information for 2025 Interns

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb 25, 2025) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced the dates for the intern professional development series, DSM Intern Connection. The series will feature opportunities for college-aged interns to connect with community leaders and executives, as well as opportunities to network with fellow students while learning about what makes DSM unique and a place they should consider for their post-graduate career. 

All college-aged interns working in Greater Des Moines (DSM) are invited to attend, and all events are free. Students who complete three of the four events receive a Community Leadership Certificate and are invited to attend an exclusive Executive Luncheon event at the Embassy Club Downtown. 

The 2024 calendar is:  

• Tuesday, June 3: DSM Intern Connection Kick-Off - Elevate Your Network: Mastering Connection & Confidence for Career Success | REGISTER 

• Tuesday, June 17: Habits of Top Performers: Setting Yourself Up for Success Now |  REGISTER 

• Tuesday, July 1: Murky Waters: Navigating Conflict, Tension and Apologies at Work | REGISTER 

• Tuesday, July 15: Wired for Resilience | REGISTER 

• Tuesday, July 29: Executive Luncheon – Invite Only* 

• *In order to attend, participants must have attended 3 of 4 previous DSM Intern Connection events.

“The DSM Intern Connection is a fantastic way for Greater Des Moines college interns to immerse themselves in the community while gaining valuable professional development and networking experiences,” said Jenae Sikkink, Senior Vice President of Talent Development and Inclusive Strategies at The Partnership. “Last year, students from more than 64 colleges participated, and many of these students indicated their interest in living and working in Greater Des Moines after graduation. We’re excited to welcome a new group of interns for another impactful summer.”
