What’s a day in your job like? A day in my job includes meetings; working on restoration and healthcare projects; coordination between consultants, owners, designers; and working for on various projects.
What are your passions outside of work? When you’re not at work, what will we find you doing? Passions outside of work are the nonprofits I volunteer for, family and friends, learning new skills and reading. When I’m not at work, you could find me taking a class at the art center, enjoying dinner at one of my favorite Greater Des Moines (DSM) restaurants, attending any one of the various Downtown Des Moines (DSM) events or at a coffee shop reading a new book.
Where’s your favorite (something) in Des Moines? My favorite thing about Des Moines is that I can always find something to do — a new class, a great restaurant, a fun bar, a brilliant music festival — the list is never ending.
What is something you would like to see added or changed about Des Moines? I would love to see more public transportation options in Des Moines — a trolley, tram or whatever that could connect Downtown to West Glen, Ankeny and beyond. That would be cool.
What are your words to live by? “You are a perishable item. Live accordingly.”
What projects have you been involved with in YPC? I haven’t been super involved up in the past, looking forward to jumping in and getting my feet wet in all that is YPC.

The Young Professionals Connection (YPC) promotes an environment that attracts and retains young professionals in Greater Des Moines (DSM). YPC connects young professionals to each other and to the community through social, civic, charitable and professional development endeavors. YPC members have unique opportunities to grow personally and professionally and forge lasting relationships. They engage, connect and form a foundation for their future in DSM. YPC is an initiative of the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
