For 40 years, Stivers Ford Lincoln of Iowa has provided customers with a superior sales and service experience. Since Stivers Lincoln Mercury was established in 1980 by Don Politte and Ed Stivers, Jr., the family-owned business is now celebrating their 40th anniversary, creating repeat buyers with a focus on excellent customer service.

After opening its original location on Locust Street in Downtown Des Moines (DSM), the company expanded to Merle Hay and Waukee, eventually earning the designation of “Best Auto Dealership-Domestic by Cityview readers in 2013. 2020 marks the company’s eighth year in a row receiving the honor. In 2014, Stivers Ford Lincoln was awarded the Ford Motor Company President’s Award for “Outstanding Customers Service and Sales Performance,” solidifying its place as a committed DSM dealership.

Stivers Through the Years

After the original location moved from Downtown DSM to Ingersoll and finally Merle Hay — resulting in the company coining the term “Merle Hay Auto Mile” — Stivers opened their current dealership in Waukee, where it proceeded to build its used car superstore. Since 2009, the Lincoln franchise has operated out of Waukee, closing its Merle Hay operations in 2010. That same year, a remodel and new website were designed at the Waukee location to enhance customer service and encourage growth and expansion of the service department, collision center services and more.
