Sammons Financial Group Energy-Efficient Features
Key features of their office headquarters influenced the score that led to the 2023 Certified Building status awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy. Those features included:
Use of Harmony Windows by Sage Glass. The windows use a glazing solution to alter window tint based on available sunlight which helps to manage internal building temperature on particularly hot and sunny days. The windows can deliver both a comfortable environment and lower energy use and costs.
Efficient internal lighting balanced by the presence of dynamic glass to reduce glare and improve the quality of natural light entering the windows.
Hot-water boiler heaters for heat production and temperature management in winter for ideal thermal environmental conditions.
Outdoor air ventilation meets or exceeds minimum standards for ideal indoor environmental quality.
Air-cooled chillers in the data center to improve efficiency, manage costs, and reduce heat output.
