Celebrate Election Day with YPC

Direct mail, commercials and phone calls — oh my. This has seemed to be the story of our lives for the past several months, and it all comes to a head tonight. Finally, Election Day is here!

If there’s one thing I have discovered about young professionals through the YPC Vote contest and even my own Facebook feed, it’s that we are passionate about democracy. We are zealous about educating ourselves and those around us about the candidates, the issues we care about and learning how we as YPs can make a difference this election. 

I hope that no matter which side of the aisle you’re on, you’ll bring your passion and civility and join YPC for an election party unlike any other tonight.  

YPC, the Des Moines Social Club, StartupCity Des Moines and Google will host an election night street party inside Proof and outside on 13th Street between Locust and Grand. Free and open to the public, this nonpartisan event is designed to encourage community involvement on election night.

• Des Moines Social Club trivia rounds at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 pm
• Awards for the #YPCVote Election Photo Contest

And more! No need to worry about cold weather... heat lamps will be provided and Proof Restaurant will be open. Come by when you can, and stay as long as you want! 

Light appetizers will be provided, and Proof's late-night slider menu (including vegetarian options) also will be available. Show your political pride - grab your drink in a red, blue (or neutral) cup from the cash bar.

Bring a heavy dose of civility, and join us to find out who will represent "we the people" in the next term!
