Why should someone join your Chamber?

Polk City Chamber & Economic Development is an organization that has been newly formed this year. We are so excited to grow and expand with this new formed unity.

What is your Chamber’s biggest accomplishment in the past 12 months?
  
We have hired our first part-time Executive Director to serve as the community’s liaison to the chamber. This is our biggest accomplishment this year! 

Any initiative or project that you are looking forward to in 2017?

One of our biggest initiatives for 2017 is the successful merger of the Polk City Chamber and the Economic Development Corporation. We are investing time to merge all of our practices and procedures to make one successful organization.

Another positive change this year is the re-birth/expansion of our website.  We are working with a technology consultant to enhance our functionality and make it a more valuable tool for our Chamber Members.  We are also planning to consolidate the Chamber site with the Economic Development, Four Seasons Festival and Polk City Foundation sites all into one main domain, with separate tabs for each organization. It’s going to be a nice upgrade. 

What upcoming events should people watch for?

Our Sounds on the Square events will take place on Friday, June 16 and Friday, Aug. 25. The Four Seasons Festival is scheduled for July 14 and 15. Our Mid-Summer Scramble Best-Shot Golf Tournament is Friday, July 7. Our Bikes & Brews event is Saturday, Aug. 19.
