Why should someone join your Chamber?   

Grimes Chamber & Economic Development (GCED) is an organization that has been in existence and evolving for more than 20 years. Like the community it serves, the organization continues to grow and improve. Members indicate they value the organization for the business relationships they have been able to build.

What is your Chamber’s biggest accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Grimes Chamber & Economic Development offers a variety of services to its members, including traditional chamber activities, economic development initiatives and tourism promotion. During the past year, the organization added a third employee, thereby allowing the organization to offer more value to its investors.

Any initiative or project that you are looking forward to in 2017?  

Grimes Chamber & Economic Development is hosting a Global Familiarization excursion to Italy in November. The trip is open to anyone who wants to travel for 10 days, exploring Rome, Assisi, Perugia, Siena, Florence, Venice, Milan and many sights in and between those historic cities. What upcoming events should people watch for?   

Grimes Chamber & Economic Development, with the help of many generous sponsors and volunteers organizes an annual celebration of community in Grimes, Iowa. The event is called Governors Days, in celebration of the community’s namesake, the 3rd Governor of Iowa, James W. Grimes.

Ryleah Cross

Ryleah Cross is currently serving in the role of board chair for Grimes Chamber and Economic Development. Ryleah owns and operates the Edward Jones office located at 270 W First Street, Suite J in Grimes, Iowa, where she has worked as a Financial Advisor since March 2013. Ryleah is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, is married and has a beautiful daughter.
