How Does a Business Join Your Chamber?

A business can join Go Polk City online, in person or by phone at (515) 984-3098.

What Inspired You to First Get Involved with Your Chamber?

I have always been a person that enjoys serving others. Two years ago, when the Chamber Administrator position became available, I applied, and the rest is history. Having the opportunity to learn more about the City of Polk City, the nonprofits and the Polk City Foundation has allowed me to grow as a professional.

What is a Signature Offering of Your Chamber?

In March of 2020, right as COVID-19 was hitting Iowa, we rebranded to Go Polk City. Polk City offers exceptional value for our business community with lower commercial real estate costs, easy access to resources, strong support for the community and compelling success stories from other local businesses. Polk City is a vibrant, growing and energetic community with something for everyone.

What is Your Chamber’s Biggest Accomplishment in the Past 12 Months?

The Chamber published its first membership guide and directory this year. With our historic town square, Big Creek and Saylorville Lake in our backyard, the ability to showcase what Polk City has to offer — whether you live here or are just passing through — was a driving force in getting a directory published.

What Initiative/Project Are You Looking Forward to in the Upcoming Year?

Go Polk City looks forward to driving the energy created by many community businesses that have been forced to pivot due to the pandemic.

What Partnership Tools/Resources Have Been Most Beneficial to Your Chamber Members?

Go Polk City appreciates the continued support and resources available from the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

What Are Your Upcoming Events?

Go Polk City has cancelled our upcoming signature events due to the COVID-19, but has kept the Farmers’ Market (with a few modifications) in the Town Square on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m.

The Greater Des Moines Partnership is the fourth largest regional Chamber of Commerce in the nation. Learn more about Partnership Affiliate Chambers, browse the Membership Directory and read additional Affiliate Chamber spotlights.
