Finders Keepers: Local Art Is Hiding Across Greater Des Moines This Summer
A little curiosity. A bit of luck. That’s all it takes to discover something special this summer.
The best part? If you find one, it’s yours to keep.
That’s the idea behind Hide & Seek: Sun Seekers, a region-wide treasure hunt inviting residents and visitors to search for one-of-a-kind, summer-inspired works of art hidden throughout Greater Des Moines (DSM).
Local artists have created unique keepsakes that will be tucked away in communities across DSM from July through September. Look closely as you enjoy local parks and community events across the region. These sunny surprises could be waiting for you beside a walking trail, near a shady picnic spot or hiding in plain sight near your favorite coffee shop.

Each creation is accompanied by a tag letting lucky finders know they've discovered an original work hand-crafted by a local artist. The activation celebrates the creativity of local artists while encouraging everyone to explore new places and experience the unique character of communities throughout the region.
