Estes Construction Announces Company Giving Pillars & Community Grants Investing in Opportunity Across the Region
Estes Construction today announced the launch of its new community grant funding process through its transformative company philanthropy program, affirming the company’s longstanding commitment to strengthening the communities and economies where it builds. Estes has offices in Davenport, Des Moines and Galesburg, Ill., and is a leading regional construction manager with projects across the Midwest.
The Estes Construction grant fund will award funding to nonprofit organizations and partners aligned with Estes’ newly developed four giving pillars — underserved youth, partnering with
purpose, talent and workforce, and regional vitality. These four pillars underscore the company’s belief that construction is ultimately about building opportunity. Over the last five years, the company has given over $1M to organizations within the communities where it builds.
“Philanthropy isn’t separate from our work; it is deeply engrained in both our founding and what we live out as a team each and every day,” said Kent Pilcher, President & CEO. “Whether we are on a jobsite or investing in early childhood programs, we are driven by the same purpose: to help communities and regions thrive. We believe that regional progress is driven by connecting people to opportunities and it multiplying.”
Rooted in founder Jim Estes’ legacy, the company’s giving strategy focuses on sustained, long-term impact. Through intentional partnerships, Estes aims to support organizations that inspire youth and students, create and accelerate workforce pipelines, and advance regional economic opportunities, amenities, and overall vitality.
Estes will review grant fund applications on a quarterly basis and sponsorships on a rolling monthly basis. “Real community impact happens when businesses align their values with long-term investment in people and place,” said Sue Hafkemeyer, President & CEO of the Quad Cities Community Foundation, the organization that supports Estes’ corporate philanthropy and grantmaking. “Estes Construction has shown they are deeply committed to strengthening the region we call home. Their generous approach helps local organizations advance our most important opportunities, like workforce development and regional vitality.”
“At Estes, we’ve always believed it’s not enough to simply finish a project and move on,” added
Pilcher. “Even after a project’s completion, we continue to stand alongside our partners because
we believe in potential, and strong communities make strong regions”.
