Des Moines University and Central College Announce Partnership to Expand Health Sciences Pathways
Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences and Central College, a private liberal arts institution in Pella, Iowa, have announced a comprehensive partnership designed to expand pathways for Central students who wish to pursue graduate-level health sciences programs. The collaboration supports student success while helping strengthen Iowa’s health care workforce.
Opportunities for Central Students
Beginning in July 2026, Central students who meet academic benchmarks will be eligible to apply for one reserved seat annually in the following DMU programs:

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine

Doctor of Occupational Therapy

Doctor of Physical Therapy
In addition, qualified Central students will be guaranteed interview opportunities for DMU’s:

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
-
Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies
-
Master of Science in Anatomy
-
Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences
-
Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences
