Bankers Trust Iowa Artists Collection Returns to Downtown Des Moines
Twelve local artists are currently on display as part of the most recent Bankers Trust Iowa Artists Collection. What started as a way to promote and support the arts in Greater Des Moines (DSM) has become a showcase of the region's vibrant arts scene.
It was a Bankers Trust customer who sparked the idea after commenting on the abundance of wall space at one of the branches. That off-the-cuff remark evolved from an idea to a reality when the first collection debuted in 2016, followed by a second in 2019 and third in 2023.
The fourth collection, on display now in the Ruan Center lobby (666 Grand Ave.), is open to the public through Thursday, June 25 ahead of the Des Moines Arts Festival (June 26-28, 2026). Viewing hours for the Iowa Artists Collection are Monday through Friday 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday Noon – 9 p.m. Following its installment at the Ruan Center, the Iowa Artists Collection will begin a two-year rotation through all Central Iowa Bankers Trust branches.
